The truth is, unless someone is a natural talent, when it comes to color you have to pay a small attention and follow the advise of the pros. Of course, experiment is always a good way for learning but in case of a mistake you have to keep in mind that it will cost you - sweat, time, money.
Here are some tips from people who know color better and i find very useful:
1. Matching Shades
''You never want to match the walls to a color in one of your fabrics. It will be too strong. Find a grayed - out version of the color.'' - Sallie Giordano
2. Neutral Balance
''The biggest mistake people make when they're trying to be colorful and exciting is to forget that you need to balance it with neutrals - otherwise it ends up looking like a color wheel.'' -Todd Klein
3.Continuinity
''Even when i don't use the same colors everywhere, I still like the room s to feel connected. The whole house has to make sense as one.'' - Mona Ross Berman
4. Let the rooms evolve
''When it comes to color is say 'go big or go home'. You have to trust yourself. But you don't have to commit to color all at once - you can play with it as the rooms evolve. Start with a palette and then mix things in.'' - Ashley Whitaker
