Make my Friday, Too Much Innocence

Allow me to introduce myself :
When i was a young student little did we know about pop music, especially in the city of Thessaloniki where Greek music was something of a religion. Of course when Saturday Night Fever came out all of my friends from shcool  - me included -  had to declare we were some years older, so we would be allowed to see the film and pass the cinema entance.

The film is what it is and personally i still like it a lot but the great news was the music of it! For me the songs of the BeeGees were like wow! Is this kind of music realy exists? I became a big fun and tried to collect all of their vinyl records , trust me it was not easy, my parents were far away from this kind of spending money....

Why write this post?
Well, first of all it is a (VERY) hot summer noon and i can't realy work, so i have a cold glass of wine next to me and i am listening some of my old stuff , one song picked  by me and then another chosen by C. Believe me C. is all about One Direction so i have to put something in between that is easy listening, we can dance with it, cool and a boy band also!!! And you know she likes the music...well as they say like mother like daughter...

Have a wonderful day darlings!

Love, K.

5 Fig Recipes You Will Love

I love cooking and i love figs. Although i do admit i do not cook that often, i am a maniac pecipe collector and whenever i find one that i like and is easy to make, i keep it. Saying this, i must have collected over 1500 recipes over the years including different style cuisines. I also - like many others - spend many hours reading food blogs and searching around for anything that looks tasty!

Fig is one of my favorite fruits, even the smell of a fig tree makes me happy. Of course i eat as many as i can during summer , not to care about the calories, and during winter i try to comfort my desire with dried figs and marmalades.

The following recipes, all by southernliving.com are too hard to resist and i think they are all easy to make and delicious looking. Here we go:

Finally my version of figs for breakfast ....or how i started the day
a slice of bread, just a little butter, sweet yellow cheese from Crete and my first fig of the day!

A Bit More About Stockholm

Hello there and wish you a lovely Monday!
Coming back with some more pics from our Stockholm trip and some more ''news''.

Now, one of the best things during our stay there, was the wonderful hotel we had  chosen. This time there were no surprises, in fact it was much better than it looked on the internet. A modern, makes you feel like home hotel, located in a nice quite place, only 10min walk from the city center. Also it was a great relief to come back after an exhausting day - as we were walking around the city all day long  - and find a nice buffet   dinner waiting for us (included), so we did not had to go out during the night , just have a hot bath and get some rest.

The day we did a small cruise around the Stockholm Archipelago and visited  Vaxholm island  was one of the prettiest. I even tried to swim, the water was quite cold so just having my feet into the water was enough, on the other hand, i saw small children swimming and i felt a bit silly or should i say a bit Greek - spoiled in the warm waters of Aegean sea.

We were damned lucky as during our stay, there was taking place the annual culture festival, lots of artistic events and a great concert of Manu Chao was the highlight of all things happening!!!

Coming to an end i must send a 'thank you' note to the owners of the hotel in Gytheio, cause if it wasn't such a terrible place, the trip to Stockholm would not have happened. Thank you guys!

Have a wonderful week!
Love, K.

Make My Friday, Hellooo Stockholm

Visiting Stockholm during August came out of nowhere...
Normally and if things were going according to our schedule we would be relaxing by the sea in the city of Gytheio. Unfortunately, we made a really bad choice as it turned out to be and the hotel we had selected was too far from our expectations and from what we had seen while looking at the hotel's site on the internet! Needless to say we were so extremely disappointed, we did not even stayed for 24 hrs!
Now, being in the middle of August without a hotel reservation and without a plan it is not such a pleasant state of enjoying your summer!

We returned to Athens and we were a bit out of control....what we were going to do? Thank God (and Aegean Air ) we had the idea to see if we could find some last minute (low price) tickets to....anywhere...and so it had to be Stockholm!

The minute we came out of the plane everything started going so smoothly, i still can not believe it. First of all it is a wonderful city, i did not know it was soooo beautiful. I had visited Copenhagen in the past but i had in mind that Sweden is not such an interesting country i am so ashamed, how did this came into my head in the first place???

The Swedish people are amazingly kind, helpful and friendly and the city is like coming from a fairy tale. We stayed for 10 days, the weather was wonderful, the food was delicious - i am a salmon lover anyway - the quality in everything had nothing to do with the average European standard and of course i have no words for the everlasting Scandinavian design that was all around even in the way people were dressed.

I could write a really long post about this trip but i prefer to let the pictures talk.
And some more pictures on Monday's post.

Hej hej
Love, K.
