London day four, The Rain

Well, it is raining today and it rains heavily!!!
We decided to walk down to Chelsea to have some coffee because what else you can do on a rainy morning when you are a visitor in a foreign country and my daughter declared she does not do more museum visits, in-between us, i think she has a point...

During the day the rain became so strong we decided to leave for Covent Garden which proved to be a very bad idea, too many people under a small area, seemed to me like hell comparing to what we had the previous days. Thank God the weather had some small brakes that gave us the chance to do some small walks downtown to Soho and at noon i remembered a Lebanese restaurant as we all like Arabic cuisine. Needless to say we ate so much we could hardly walk after le Comptoir Libanais but it surely worth it. Unfortunately due to heavy rain we had to get back to the hotel where we played some mimic games and saw a lot of TV, James Bond was not on schedule but it was fun - and he's a Brit after all!

London day three, the Vintage hunting

Today we are going to visit Bethnal Green, an area really away from the tourists, it's a place with people all over India and Asia, i like the original food market around the streets and the ultra colorful dresses, after that we are going straight to Columbia Rd, famous for the Sunday flower market, the vintage finds and the art and craft small concept shops.
Having done all this road we plan to stop for a light grab at the j+a cafe in Clerkenwell, a coffee and restaurant opened and running by two sisters coming to London from Sydney Australia - i believe there is always some  Australian scent in everything i like....

The weather is still an ally and we are going a small run to Carnaby str and Liberty - a must - and Christina demands a visit to Hamleys the English Jumbo, you Greeks know what i mean...and my drama!!! In addition to this, my partner also insisted to visit Muji and I'm telling you the truth, it is the only shop in the whole world he does shopping, did you say something?

Head to the hotel just for a 15min rest and we have to be ready for the theater, we chose to see The Weir which is something between a comedy and a dark spooky story and it turned out to be really fantastic!
It was such a beautiful day and now it is time to relax at the hotel's bar for the usual drink....so OK, see you tomorrow...

Love, K.

London, Day two

Hi there! It looks cloudy today but i believe there won't be any rain. Today we have so many things to do, first of all we are going to visit - this a promise to Christina - our beloved primrose bakery, i have their books, make their cakes all the time and now it is time to taste the real thing. So after having a strong breakfast at the hotel we are going  to the charming Primrose Hill area to taste their ultra tasty cupcakes with a coffee or tea.
The cupcakes were delicious, the zoo is just 10 minutes from here and is not possible not to visit when you have an 11 years old with you. OK Mr tiger, here we come. The way from Primrose Hill to the Zoo is an amazingly lovely walk, next to the canals and the sun is shinning!!!

We spent 3 hours into the zoo and now we are going to the super fun. super cool, Camden town....still a punk kingdom.

Christina did a lot of shopping, now it is my time to find the vintage shops i am looking for, we are planning to visit Islington and after the walk we will have a - you can call it -  late lunch or early dinner at ottolenghi restaurant, the perfect stop to get some fuels.

I think it is time to start going down to the city center, it is a lovely afternoon and we are going to visit the V&A museum for the Italian fashion exhibition, thank God the museum is just a few steps from the hotel, i am soooo tired!

As you can see there was a party taking place at the entrance of the museum, how cool is that? Hello, you are ivited to my birthday party, it is going to be at the entrance of the Acropolis museum - ha?
Anyway, the Brits are always the Brits and that's why i love them... Time for my gin and tonic at the hotel's bar. Good night. See you tomerrow.

Love, K.
