I bought this wonderful book for my daughter as a Christmas present and i can not resist to tell you about it as i believe this is one of the most artistic books ever written for children.
'First published in Russia in 1926, Baggage dates from a golden age of the modern children's book as it was transformed by the avant-garde thought of the early 20th century. Written by Samuil Marshak and illustrated by Vladimir Lebedev, the book was intended for the widest possible audience and enormously popular, going into many editions and revisions.'
Mine is a 2012 edition, published by The Museum Of Modern Art, New York.
I can tell you it was a tricky present cause i am still not sure if i bought it for her or for me, (bad mother)....but anyway she liked it a lot.
